I know Victoria’s secret…and girl you wouldn’t believe.
Victoria’s Secret by Jax Flashmob version, it’s amazing go listen to it!
“I know Victoria's secret… 🤫 and Girl you wound’t believe! She's an old man who lives in Ohio. Making money off of girls like me.”
Victoria’s Secret runway show is back 👀 after a 5-year hiatus, with lots of controversy surrounding the former CEO, Leslie Wexner (80), the companies ties to Jeffrey Epstein, the opening of their first stores in Israel amidst the genocide in Palestine and a culture that excludes trans and plus-size models.
Ed Razek (70) former chief of marketing said in an interview that trans and plus size women don't exemplify the "fantasy" Victoria's Secret sells.
Fantasy? Women are not a fantasy.
I am not a fantasy.
And whose fantasy are the Victoria’s Secret Angels anyway? Who dreams of these women? An old man living in Ohio hiring other old men to run the company?
Today their “plus-size inclusive” fashion show is again mostly filled with extremely thin women, and the size inclusion ends at EU size 44—which is the average size in Germany and Switzerland. How is the average-sized woman considered plus-size? 🤯
Victoria’s Secret models are a male fantasy and a way to manipulate women into thinking that this look is attainable and what they should strive for, at the expense of their physical and mental health, their purpose, and their joy in life.
Companies like that are why an empowered body image isn’t something that comes with age, but something you need to actively build up.
👉 Negative body image has a huge impact on your self-confidence and is often a reason why women hesitate to take up space. I’ve seen firsthand how this issue affects women’s ability to fully show up at work, whether it’s avoiding roles that would make them more visible, shying away from networking events, or struggling to assert themselves in meetings. It even has an impact on how well teens perform at school, it impacts how they assert body boundaries and how vulnerable they are to peer pressure.
Building a positive body image is not just about feeling good—it’s about how you claim your space and pursue your life ambitions with confidence.
🌱 If you are struggling with body image and find it hard to show up with confidence, then I have something for you.
